The RJC takes all of its legal obligations, including those imposed by competition law, extremely seriously. The RJC has adopted an Anti-trust Policy and Rules which seek to ensure that the Council and its Members are aware of their competition law obligations and at all times act in accordance with all applicable competition rules. Council Members are required to abide by the Anti-trust Compliance Rules as a condition of Membership.
We take non-conformance seriously. If you feel that there is (potential) non-conformance with the RJC’s certification or assurance systems or with RJC’s conduct in relation to governance and policies, you have the right to complain. We treat all valid complaints fairly and as quickly as possible. To help us do this, we ask that you use our official Complaints Mechanism.
The Responsible Jewellery Council places a high priority on the protection of confidential information in order to protect the privacy of its Members and employees, and the integrity of the Council. For full details, review our RJC Confidentiality Policy.
We take conflicts of interest seriously and have a policy in place to ensure that conflicts of interest are prevented and mitigated at every instance.

The Responsible Jewellery Council is committed to minimising its impact on the environment. As well as the commitment of Council Members to environmental performance through the RJC Principles and Code of Practices, the Council seeks to address environmental issues in its own activities. This document is a self-declaration that Responsible Jewellery Council is an organisation that takes data privacy and data security seriously and as such is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is registered with the ICO.
The Council for Responsible Jewellery Practices is a private company limited by guarantee with no share capital under the UK Companies Act. It is registered in England and Wales with company number 05449042. In October 2008, the Council adopted the trading name of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
RJC Certified members are eligible to use an exclusive logo. It is critical that whenever they use their certified member logo, that they do not imply that a particular item or product is certified. Our membership is a company membership and it is important that this commitment is clear and transparent to everyone. If you believe there has been a logo mis-use please use our complaints mechanism. Please note only Certified, Supporter and Associate members are permitted to use the RJC logo.
